This is an 18-point chart showing San Francisco buildings of architectural, cultural, or social importance, all of which were bulldozed, destroyed, or burned out of existence between the earthquake of 1906 and as recently as 2019. And oh my, this thing took six months to draw thanks to Covid-delays (childcare, assignment focus, etc.) and the ridiculous levels of detail found on the Fox Theatre and Crocker Building. Thankfully, the Doggie Diner pup kept me good company. Theoretically, this is the last of the “Lost Buildings of the United States” series I’ll be making. Printed in an open edition, signed and dated on reverse.
