1915 Vehicles in the Downtown District of Toronto 24x36" print ($60 CAD)
If you spent most Friday nights cruising through arcane U of T Map & Data Library pages about the comings of goings of the Toronto Civic Transportation Committee circa 1915, you’d maybe find a yellowed and bent version of this beautiful pre-information age infographic. This one. I certainly did, and then I whitened the paper, cleaned it up, and straightened the bends, and what was once a utilitarian chart is now a utopia of organic forms (Queen’s Park) and Mondrianesque gridded lattice (everything else). We’re the only people who’ve seen this in a long, long, time. A reproduction sold with a half-inch margin and without a frame.
