1948 Des Régions de Montreal et Des Laurentides 18x24" print ($40 CAD)
Brading's Capital Brewery sponsored this canary-yellow masterpiece historical pictorial map of Montréal and surrounding areas in 1948, and Toronto artist and OCAD alumnus Stanley Turner must've had a lot of fun with the piece. It's a map full of anachronisms; many of the vignettes relate to French and English colonial figures doing colonial things (which I don't endorse), but among them are modern ships and mountains and airplanes and buildings drawn in an appealing 3/4 perspective. It spans from Cornwall to Trois-Rivieres, my reprint includes a half-inch margin.
