Bird’s Eye View of London, Ontario, Canada, 1872 36x24” print ($60 CAD)
Eli Sheldon Glover’s career brought him to Canada twice, once in 1878 to make a spectacular image of Victoria (that you can see right here), and another time in 1872 to make this colour view of London. I’d call both of them masterpieces of the bird’s eye view genre, but this London image has definitely been corrupted by time and my touch-up skills could only go so far on this. Maybe that’s a plus? Sold unframed, a reprint with a half-inch margin.
