Continuum (2021)
The best thing about illustration is that it can take you to distant topics, give you the knowledge and experience of incredible tour guides, and then just leave you there for a few seasons to observe and build. In this case, America’s top neurology academics (the AAN) and Pentagram NYC brought me into the human brain, showed me some things, then left me to draw the next eighteen covers of their Continuum journal. Here’s the first of the set (a cross-section of the ascending and descending spinal cord tracts), and the other seventeen will be trickled out between now and 2023. Special thanks to the team for bearing with me while I learned the definitions of “distal,” “dorsal,” “proximal,” “sagittal,” “transverse” and “ventral.”
