To give you a quick tour of this place, the “portfolio” section is a 30-project overview of my fave illustrations from the last decade, a mix of editorial, commercial, and personal work. The “shop” section includes dozens and dozens of my art prints, some of which are personal projects, and others that are reprints of illustrations of mine that have earned lives outside of their original context.
Edmonton on 1 July 1983 24” square silkscreened print ($80 CAD)

This is “Edmonton on 1 July 1983,” and it shows that city on the opening day of the ‘83 Universiade Games. I lost myself in this thing and spent a dozen full studio days digging through Edmonton history, maps, charts, and records to draw 130 specific landmarks and buildings. Being close to a subject sometimes makes working on it doubly intense. About its geography: Whyte Avenue runs in a straight line near bottom, and Jasper Ave. zigs and zags from the old Royal Alberta Museum (at left) to Sir Winston Churchill Square (top right). Screenprinted in an edition of 600, signed and editioned on reverse.
