Montreal on 27 April 1967 24” square silkscreened print ($80 CAD)
This is “Montreal on 17 April 1967,” and it shows that city (aka my home town) on the opening day of Expo ‘67. This is the most “zoomed in” in the set; its northern border is a mix of Rachel and Mont Royal, its west border is the old Montreal Forum, it’s east border is Hochelaga, and at bottom the exposition grounds on Isles St. Helene and Notre Dame are visible (and complete with a dozen or so of my favourite Expo ‘67 Pavillions). This was the very first print in my “Canadian City Print” series, and it includes 60 or so specific Montreal landmarks and buildings. Screenprinted in an edition of 1500, signed and editioned on reverse.
