Postwar Vancouver seems to have been thoroughly covered by illustrators, and this charming map published by the Vancouver Tourist Association makes my knees weak as it shouts “pleasant times to be had here!” At least three people wave at the viewer, thick red arrows tie everything together, and a seagull near bottom left emits a question mark as it stares at a jet plane. If anyone knows who drew this, please drop me a line – while I’ve cleaned this up from a City of Vancouver Archives file, I can’t find anything about the artist behind it.
