War game print and cards ($60 CAD)
Ever wanted to simulate a civil war on the island of Montréal? Now’s your chance. War is the unauthorized but playable addition to the classic board game Risk, illustrated, designed, and collaged by yours truly. Each region corresponds to a continent on the original game (the Far West stands in for Australia, Centreville for Europe, L’Est for North America, etc.), with balances of power approximately maintained. I’ve slathered the map edges with various antiwar, over-the-top jingoistic, and otherwise violence-skeptic historic imagery, constantly reminding you that war is awful as you slay plastic armies with dice. Included in that imagery: Stalin bowing and saying “hello,” Picasso’s Geurnica, the Good Soldier Švejk, Judge Dredd getting electrocuted by a Sov Block Sentenoid, a dog of war, etc. Comes with a deck of 45 game cards that you’ll have to cut out yourself, but I have a feeling you’re crafty enough to do that. Printed with 0.5” margins at an easily-framable 36x24”, does not include Risk pieces, dice, or rulebook.
