"Beef Husbandry in Ontario" print (1955)
"Beef Husbandry in Ontario" print (1955)
Ontario's own Department of Agriculture kept up its own hectic publishing schedule, making hundreds of booklets while the federal Department did their own. Occasionally the two would repackage each others' materials, but Beef Husbandry in Ontario is all Ontarian and all muscle. Flaming red letters: check. Robustly coloured cattle-in-a-paddock-by-some-trees painting by an uncredited painter: check.
As a vegetarian I don't agree with the booklets' forward ("choice roast beef is a favourite with all persons who profess to be connoisseurs of good food") but I do agree with every choice this booklet's designer made.
A booklet cover reproduction available at 12x18" or 24x36" on Epson Enhanced Matte 192 gsm paper printed with Epson UltraChrome XD2 archival ink. Sold in an open edition, unframed. The Ontario Department of Agriculture wordmark on this cover has been replaced with the words ”Ontario Farming Forum” due to Section 9 of the Canadian Trademarks Act.
