Scarred but taped, this 1911 Map by Thomas and Abbott survived a century of wear to show us what Ottawa and Hull looked like fully recovered from the fire of 1900. Dow's Lake is at the edge of town, and Ottawa hasn't yet jumped the Rideau River southward and eastward. Yes, it's annoying that the mapmakers forgot an apostrophe on "Abbott's", but I've made worse mistakes myself and their salmon-and-burnt-umber colour coding more than makes up for it.
